There’s a girl with lilac eyes shying away; sheltering away from the storm of arms, legs, shoulders, elbows, and fists. Her mind is the home of dragons; suns blazing far away; and whimsical songs about drugs she’ll never take in places she’ll never go. She’s tried to fill her notebook but has filled her bin instead. She tries to sing but the words are stubborn and the tune has already been used. The colours on the canvas mingle like eager strangers shouting to be heard over the adjacent shouts. Her thoughts are too tired for the light of day so she cries tearlessly behind her glaring sunglasses.
