You spend all your time worrying about exams,
The hours of revising,
The sleepless nights,
The days of being on edge,
Being rude to others.
And that’s before the exams even start.

You finally get to the day,
Sweaty palms and crazy thoughts,
Waiting to get it over with.
Staring into space,
Unaware of others around you,
You walk into the hall of torture.

As soon as their over,
You feel as though a great weight has been lifted,
But as quickly as the feeling comes
It vanishes again.
The worry of the results,
Take control of your mind, body and soul.

For what seems like years you wait,
Wait for the feeling of relief,
Or even grief,
Anything to escape this feeling,
The feeling of being in limbo
For almost an eternity.

Finally the day comes,
Why can’t time slow down again?
The feeling of being eager to know the outcome,

Has washed away within a fraction of a second.
Denial thanks to exhaustion,

Cloud the thoughts, and it’s almost impossible to open the paper.

All around,
People are crying,
Some out of happiness,
Some out of sadness.
The shame and disappointment
Scares those yet to unveil the truth.

The feelings of relief don’t seem to come,
Pass or fail, the journey of worry doesn’t cease.
Although, over time,
The worry shall be almost forgotten.
But, still, it creeps up on you,
For whatever reason. It shall return.
