The old man ushered me inside. At the moment, I believed all of this to be hospitable humbleness, but of course I was wrong...

The old man told me to wait, and then went into the kitchen. When he came back, he had a gun in hand, and was smiling a crooked grin.

"Well, hello, Amos," he said. "It's been a long time."

I put my hands up. This man was crazy!

"I don't know who you are," I said, shaking.

"Of course you don't," said the man. Suddenly, he grabbed his head and pulled it off.

At first I was horrified. But then I realized that it was a rubber mask. I was amazed to see who was under the mask. "Seamus!" I croaked.

"Yes," said my brother. "Why are you here?"

"I came looking for you," I said. "What have you been doing here for thirty years?"

"I have my own ways to spend time," said Seamus. He still held his gun strongly. "Now tell me," he growled. "What's the password?"

"What password," I asked, my teeth chattering.

"You are a fool," Seamus observed. He waved his hand and put down his gun. "Well, no matter." He grabbed my arm roughly and threw open the cellar door. "The rats'll find a tasty snack in you! That is, if the tarantulas don't find you first!" He laughed evilly and closed the door, a satisfied look on his face.

Uh-oh. How was I going to get out of this one?

This story is continued in Westville II: Return of Seamus Bailey, coming later this year!
