When I was a child I had a little black dog, and she was so very special to me. We grew up alongside each other, we shared everything, and when she left a piece of me did too. I like to think that when the ones we love die, or when we die, that our spirits live on in some sacred place. Everything rises from the earth, and one day returns. Maybe our spirits do just that, they come back. Deep within the ones we hold close, part of those we lost are there. I didn’t want another dog for a long time, because the ones you love are not easily replaced. As Humans, we're funny, we think if we replace things with anew, that all the previous memories and feelings will disappear, or also be replaced. Well, I choose to remember, to remember it all. I choose it every day even when it tears me apart.

Everything has a meaning, everything has a purpose.

Through our memories, the ones we lost can live on forever more, and that is a beautiful thing.

Maybe that scared place, is in each of us, in our hearts and in our minds.
