Our beginnings were separate,

And then our paths crossed

 Just like any story.

I made my own path towards something I didn’t know.

I started becoming who I am now.

The trees we passed were the chapters of our story.

Each river crossed, every fear conquered.

They say heaven is the afterlife.

I say paradise is eternity.

It’s unescapable.

When the pieces of my eternity fell apart,

I was left pages ripped from the book.

There were stains on the pages.

But there were also beautiful words.

The words she spoke to me.

The words that protected me from the world I was so afraid of.

I had no fears with these words.

These words will be seeds.

And these seeds will grow into new chapters.

And these chapters will be trees.
