To praise our savior is a desperate plot.
A leader to drown us in our past
Won’t make for a tomorrow without sorrow.
We’ll have more past to drown in.
We’ll have more to pray for.
It will continue to haunt our being until we reach eternity
Because what we have now is not eternal.
What we will have is what we must earn.
What we have now is punishment for what has been.
What has been was a plan but I say self-sabotage.
I saw what happened in my mind.
I saw myself reaching for what I knew was forbidden.
And I saw the writer of the story.
A mixture of greed and self-loathing.
The greed of wanting more and needing more
The author is the character.
The character has flaws,
And shame.
We have so much to drown in.
We drown inside of what we are but only what we
Became before we were.
