Status: Finished  |  Genre: Poetry  |  House: Booksie Classic

a poem i wrote about LGBT and how they are mistreated and how we feel when were being treated wrong. In the point of view of a 10th grade high school student. Who thought it would never get better. There is no dedication to this poem.

Are We Human? By: DeAnna Beland

Is there a reason why were all being pointed at

with the tips of slender fingers

and the points of noses raising at us

a sign of inteligence and unwanting.

were in a box for the longest time

duct- taped closed with no air to breathe

and when we finally get it open and we can run free

well, that will be the day.

we walk along the same as you.

same molecules and cells that make us human

but we dont get the same treatment

theres not a single reason why.

were zoo animals

caged up like a panther

the bars blocking us from the rest of the world

and everyone who lives in it.

they stare at us with terrified eyes

and disaproving glares

that is hard to believe were human at all.

Are we human?

It's all about tolerance if we could learn it. I wonder if the others are human?
