He sees Delilah pass by his store window,
And she takes a second long glance,
A split second chance to see him,
And though she looks in trying to see,
All that she sees is her,
Her reflections in the way,
She looks so cute looking confused,

And archie knows,
He knows,
What she's doing,

And one day delilah gets up the courage,
She walks right in the door,
Crosses the floor,
To see him,
He says you are devine,
Would you like to go out sometime,
Because sometimes when she passes by his window,
He does the same damn thing,
They're on a chain,
Only wishin for relief when tempers rise up,
Red bar, red bar,
And she drives away in the family car,
But returns before dark,

Cuz she knows,
Delilah knows,
Where she's going,

Years pass by and things've been sewn together,
And things have fallen apart,
But oh, you know love grows,
And one day Archie gets up the courage,
Says my love you haven't aged a day since i met you,
She says I love you so much,
My window boy,

And they know,
Yes, they know,
They've got something here...

Archie and Delilah pushing each other on the swing,
In old age,
They're still on that chain,
And still happy to be with each other...

And then Archie gets sick,
And the ambulance wasn't so quick...
But before he had to go away,
One more time he kissed her sweet face,

Because sometimes when she passes by his window,
He does the same damn thing,
They're on a chain,
Only wishin for relief when tempers rise up,
Red bar, red bar,
And she drives away in the family car,
But returns before dark

And she knows,
And she knows...
