It is currently three A.M and I am sitting in my room with the lights on listening to the

rain. I look to the window to see my room reflected upon blackness. Rain streaks pass

by my walls in this seeming alternate world, distorting the room into a beautiful mess. I

am not sure why I like the rain, but it is seemingly the only time I have my blinds

completely drawn. I often wonder who can see me staring blankly at my window, but I do

not care. The rain is almost as peaceful to me as sleep. If only the rain lasted longer. I

find myself upset when the rain stops. Because after the rain stops I am left with

nothing but damp soil and mud. But all good things never last.
