A Day of A King

A legend in life was born on January 15th, 1929 and has changed the world. The name of this legend is Michael Luther King, originally, before he modified his first name to be Martin. A leader of the American civil rights movement, he became. Atlanta, Georgia is known as his birth State. The actual M.L.K. holiday is held in January, on the third Monday of each year. Nineteen Eighty-Three was the starting year to what has become the M.L.K. Day holiday, on November 3rd.

The former president, Ronald Reagan is the man behind signing the bill to bring Martin Luther King Day into existence. It wasn’t ‘till Nineteen Eighty-Six when it became an actual federal holiday. Having this happen was a tough fight. As of the year “Two Thousand”, all States in the U.S. were approved for having M.L.K. Day as a federal holiday.

The famous speech “I Have A Dream” was on television, live from D.C. (District of Columbia), back in Nineteen Sixty-Three. On August Twenty-Third of that year, it happened. To end racism, was his focus. The speech wasn’t only for that, but to speak of Freedom and Jobs as well.
