There was only one thing that Kyle Newmark was thinking right at that second, the whole world has gone to shit. He was standing on the edge of his apartment building covered in his girlfriends blood. Only twenty minutes ago he was sleeping next to his beloved Helen, now she lay in a pile on her own intestines and blood crawling around on the floor. Kyle was awoken to the horrors of his girlfriends screams, and when he jumped out of bed and swung his bedroom door open, nothing could of prepared himself for the site that he saw. One of Kyle's neighbors from across the hall had made there way into his apartment and started to eat Helen right where she stood, and then right where she fell. Kyle grabbed his neighbor and threw him out the front door, then slammed it shut. Helen was on the ground losing a lot of blood from the open wounds that the neighbor had bitten in her arm and rib area. Kyle was frantic to try and get something to cover the wounds. When he finally had grabbed!
a big enough blanket to wrap around her ribs, Helen's heart stopped beating. It's hard to say what happened inside of her body sense no one really knows, but what ever happened, it was something beyond human comprehension. Kyle was kneeling next to his dead girlfriend tyring to make sense of what he just saw happen, when Helen started moving. She opened her eyes and looked at Kyle with the scariest look on her face. Then she lunged at him trying to bite his neck. Kyle threw her to one side and hoped onto his feet. Helen got up as well and lunged at Kyle again. This time she managed to grab him, knocking both of them back to the floor. Helen rolled off of Kyle into the wall and stayed right where she landed for a second before getting up very slowly. This gave Kyle enough time to grab the axe that was in the closet next to there fridge. Helen turned her head around slowly looking at Kyle with pure craziness on her eyes.
"Don't you come at me again Helen." Kyle said almost crying.
Helen didn't seem to listen, and dived at Kyle again. This time, Kyle drove the axe right into her stomach. Just like out of a horror movie, Helen didn't seem to notice what had just happened to her and continued to try and grab Kyle. He pushed her onto the ground and started to pound the axe into her stomach over and over and over, until Helen was laying on the ground in two pieces. Her legs weren't moving anymore, but the top half of her body was still trying to crawl towards Kyle. Freaked out, Kyle walked over to his door and looked threw the peep hole. No one was there. He opened the door carefully, and check up and down the hallway. There wasn't a single person there. He started to wonder where his neighbor had gone too, but really didn't want to worry about it right now unless he came back.
Kyle walked into the hall and closed the door behind him so Helen coouldn't get out. He walked to the elevator doors and pushed the big metal button to call for one of them. The door on the far left opened imedietlly, and his neighbor from before fell right out onto the floor dead. Then a police officer scrambled out bleeding from his chest.
"Go to the roof!" The cop yelled at Kyle. "There's to many down there!"
The cop collapsed ontop of the neighbor. Kyle wasted no time getting into the elevator and pushing the top button, floor 42. The elevator door closed and the small metal box started to get pulled up by a system of cables and pulleys. Kyle didn't have to go up very far, he was already on floor 40, only two to go. The elevator stoped on 42, and the door opened. Kyle checked the hall way, no one in sight. He ran down the hall for the last door. He kicked it open, and the light of the morning sky hit Kyle in the eyes for the first time today. He slammed the door shut behind him and wedged the axe under the doorknob so it was more difficult to get it open. He walked up to the edge of the building and looked at the once beautiful city he lived in. Now it was ruined. Skyscrapers were on fire, thick black columns of smoke were rising into the air. There was allot of planes in the sky too. Down on the ground, people were running for there lives, cars and trucks were colliding into wa!
lls and other vehicles. The whole world has gone to shit. What caused it? Kyle would never get to know the answer. His brain couldn't take it anymore. The pain of his girlfriends death, his own city rotting form the inside out, the whole world rotting form the outside in, and he was trapped in the middle waiting for the rot to hit him. Kyle looked down at the ground. Fuck it. He took the final step he would ever take, and was now falling straight for the ground. Let death come take him away. Anything was better then being on this planet during the end.
