Skeletons, remnants of history

Rattle in the wind

Down candlelit, dank corridors

Amongst the cobwebs of my mind

Upon the shelves of logic, blowing dust into the space

Works of 'Tragic Loss' and 'Pain' and 'Hate'

Along with a thousand nameless faces

A bibliotheque of words and phrases, long ago used and discarded

Oil paintings of former lovers, painted behind the eyelids

Foraging in this feral place, trying to find a state of mind

Look through books of torture, see the hanging hopes

And realise why love is blind

Locked in a vault, in a darkened corner, the principles of Love

Along with a ghostly apparition, of that fella from above

This creation state, I hereby name ' Cerebral Subterfuge '

Lost along the highways here, one day maybe we'll find you

Cobwebs grew to hide the pain, that cracked and chipped the paint

But the rivers dried and the forest died

And what you see is what remained.
