I opened my eyes, looked for a bottle

Alcohol was my alarm clock

Thought was clouded

By the bottles I drowned

My floor was a carpet of empties

The Firewater fuelled me

Turned me against me

Couldn't function, wasn't drunk

Couldn't function, wasn't sober

I wasn't happy drunken or sober

Couldn't bear to be without booze in my veins

I hated the man in the mirror

So I smashed it when I should have changed
