The Headache

My head hurts
I sit in the corner and cry
Mommy says to take a nap
But when I try to
It hurts more.
Daddy comes home
He sees me weeping
He says, "Why not a pill?"
I shake my head
Pills hurt too.
Why should
A four year feel this pain?
It hurts so much.
My head bangs and bangs.
My sister comes home from school
She sees me holding my head
She gives me a cup of water
She says, "It's magic!"
So I drink the water
With heavy doubts.
I feel sleepy a bit.
I close my eyes and as dream starts.
Red bursts, banging.
Until it stops,
I wake up again.
When I wake up,
I'm sweaty and exhausted.
But the sun is shining
The pool is glimming.
I find my sister,
We get dressed
The magic water
Had worked after all.
