Two objects sit before me: a golden hammer and a cup of what seems to be water. A note on the wall says: "Go ahead, make your choice. The outcome will decide whether you're ready or not." Ready for what? What is this place? Why these objects? What object would YOU choose?

I chose the hammer. The golden coated hammer. I don't know why I did it, something just attracted me to it. Now what? I was stuck in this tiny room with nothing, no one, expect the glass of water and that stupid hammer. The door was locked, so I couldn't go anywhere. I pondered about how my life got to this then suddenly the sound of a lock clicking woke me from my thoughts. What was that? I turned around and realized that the once locked door was now nearly fully open, but how? No one else was here but me, right?

I looked out the door but couldn't see anything apart from blackness. It was black dark. The door lead to nothing. I slowly edged myself closer to the frame of the door and carefully stepped through the doorway. The darkness lit up a little as I moved my foot and in front of me stood a person dressed in a large white gown. I looked up to his eyes and was horrified at what I saw. His face was painted as a clown- not a very nice one either. His red eyes lit up his pale face and his emotionless expression gave me the shakes. He was staring right through me. No words were exchanged for a few minutes. Then I gasped and took a step back as he pulled out an object from behind his back. It was a hammer, a golden hammer and he was coming right at me with it.
