Is reality something permanent that changes outside our own will or do we have more influence than we ever realize? Should we let beautiful dreams touch our hearts and soul or should we only accept reality as a cold, permanent state of mind?

Living in beautiful dreams or accepting reality?
Have you ever had this sad feeling that wherever you go, whenever you are there, there’s always discontentedness amongst the people. There’s always tragedy, always sickness, suffering, sorrows, misery and heartbroken people who lost dear ones. Somehow you realise there will never be a perfect world. When you look around you right now and you watch the news channels or listen to the radio all you hear about is misery and dissatisfaction. A long time ago I stopped watching news and even watching TV because as a human being, what I see and what I hear doesn’t make me happier in any way. I stopped reading the news articles on the web and I don’t mind turning the radio down when there’s a newsbreak. In this crazy world you get overloaded with negative news and signals that can turn one’s mood down. All I have to do is walk out my door and make my own news. The people I meet on my way, even the occasional ones I meet in the supermarket, on the street or the subway. They are all part of my daily news. The kids that play around in my neighbourhood, one of the neighbours who lets his dog out, the friendly lady in the library who helps me with my question. They are far more relevant to me than every other news I could hear on the radio, television or the internet. What I like the most about people are spontaneous meetings which give your day a little boost. Just a little chat about the small things of life. They make you wonder about life again. They can give you the inspiration you were looking for right there at that moment. They make you give something a moment’s thought you’d probably forget about on your own. That’s how special life can be through all the hectics we’re surrounded by. You gotta open yourself for these kind of moments in your daily life because they are everywhere. They make you realise reality is right here, right now exposing itself in front of your own eyes and ears. You only gotta be willing to see and to hear. The moment you realise dreams and reality are happening right now, you will understand how everything exists in the moment. We choose our own reality and we live our dreams day by day. Whatever you want in life, you should always realize, nothing is worth waiting for if it makes you forget about happiness today. I love dreaming. Sometimes I can daydream for hours about journeys, about love, about a better world, prosperity in the future or a better life in general. I can be touched and dragged along by beautiful visions I have. They can touch my heart in special ways reality might not always reach. But when I open my eyes reality is back there waiting for me. When I’m not satisfied with reality and the way things are going I always realize I choose my own reality. Because the way I look at reality already changes reality itself. When I go out joyful with a positive attitude in my heart and mind, I will greet the people around me with a positive vibe. Life will look different to me. People might smile back or they won’t. But something changed inside myself which make me feel happier. Which make me see life through a different rear-view. I’m not expecting any longer for life to greet me first. I just open my heart and let it happen. I let life in my heart. Even if reality doesn’t change around me, I will see things in a different spotlight. Therefor we should ask ourselves what reality really is and how much influence we have in our experiences with reality. I try not to fight with reality anymore. Still I don’t accept it. Instead I keep dreaming my beautiful dreams and let my heart be touched by them. Reality, changes…

You make some absolutely excellent points. People escape reality by turning to things like drugs and alcohol... but there is a better way. I really enjoyed reading this.

Thanks. We should always face reality when necessary, but that doesn't mean there are different ways of looking at it. The glass can be half empty or half full. When you can escape in dreams that make reality even better you know you're on the right track...

We decide every day IF we want to be Happy, or Sad. Reality is the tragic news on the day. I Do Not escape to Daydreams I only associate with People who have a Positive Outlook on Life.
