A poem to describe the relationship between soldiers and the rest of the world, how their 'friendship' with death allows them to continue fighting. Hope you enjoy!

The bitter scent of a weaping flower
With petals tht droop towards the floor.
They shead a tear for an awesome power
As the wind whistles the words "no more!"

We will fight them on the beaches
We will kill them where they stand.
Victory is not yet out of our reaches
And peace could be close at hand.

So fight for those you left at home
And do not miss your bed.
The fields of war are yours to roam
So keep up that smiling head.

We look to you in times of need
To defend those who cannot fight.
And if you fall and plant your seed
Then you died doing what was right.

You give your lives to fighting
And death is but a friend.
As for me I stick to writing
For it is a far more safer trend.
