Breath of Life

Breathe of life into me

Shout of praise out to thee

Your spirit came some time ago

But sometimes I feel he’s letting me go.

My prayer repeats time again

Hoping we’d become better friends

Feeling like I’m losing faith

Each day feeling no longer safe.

I hunger for you Lord.

I want to know you more.

But as deep as I search for you

There has not been a breakthrough.

I hear you calling out my name

And you tell me to stop living in vain.

You speak to me in your powerful might

You promise me I will be all right.

In my heart I feel you near

So please stay and hold me dear.

Help me give up all to your love

Make me see the cross was enough

God continue to fill me up

Let me drink from your holy cup

No longer blind as now I can see

All that you have done for me.

Now let me sing your songs of praise

Let me rejoice in endless days

For whenever life takes me for a ride

I know you’re right there by my side.

As far as the east is from the west

You are with me through all of life’s quests

But even when I cannot feel you near

No longer, God, will I fear.
