I’m trying now to discern

Trying so hard to finally learn.

Learn what course for me is best

And prevail in all God’s grueling tests.

I’ve stopped talking so much

And started listening more.

Learning to stand without a crutch

While trying still to explore.

Explore life and what it means

Especially when nothing’s what it seems.

To find myself and find my way

And get me through when skies are gray.

Observing the beauties of the earth

And thanking God for all He’s worth.

Looking up into the sun

And remember God saying, “You don’t have to run.”

All I want is to figure it all out

But I’m swimming in a pool of my own self-doubt.

Not trusting what the Lord has planned.

And refusing to take his outstretched hand.

It seems that I keep telling myself

That nothing can keep me from this living hell.

But then with God I make a pact

And by His promises I’ll learn to relax.

It’s His will now I’m trying to see

And a sinful life I’m hoping to flee.

Yes I know the Lord’s planned something more

If I only keep my eyes towards each open door.

I’ll trust that it’ll all be alright

And listen the God’s whisper through the night.

I’ll stop looking for my own desires

And discern about what God’s conspired.
