In trying times, it's important for everyone to have a place to go where he or she can feel comfortable. It's an Escape of sorts. Mine is described below.

The walls cave in

And my head keeps pounding

Darkness closes in

On my surroundings

I lift my arms

As the tears first fall

And I duck my head

To avoid it all

I need an escape

As my heart lets go

And I go to my place

But the tears still flow

A park on a hill

A home away from home

A place I enjoy

And call my own

I look out on a night

Filled by the bright full moon

And pray to God above

That this pain will be over soon

The tears now weld my tattered eyes

And then it appeared to me

A white light high up in the sky

That came to rescue me

God said, “I’m here”

And washed away my sorrow

I lifted my head to Him

And tried not to worry about tomorrow

But the truth remains still today

I didn’t want to go

For on that night I escaped

God’s light saved my life below
