Why We Write
Some people say that it is impossible to describe in words the emotions that they have felt with regard to a single event or occurrence. They think there’s no way they’d be able to capture that emotion and find the words to tell someone about it. As writers, we aim to find words for the indescribable. We write because the impossible to describe is possible when choosing the right words. Our hearts and souls pour out onto each page we write and every word, every letter, is sculpted with a specific reason. Nothing is accidental. Every comma, every dash, every capital letter and punctuation are all planned. We write because it allows our hearts to open up while making sure each syllable is beautiful and eloquence flows from line to line. We write because it feeds the hungry passion inside of us to cry out and let others know the emotions we feel that somehow make sense when they fall on a page. No work is the same, but each represents its own individual style. Every writer, every piece, every sentence symbolizes its own emotion, each telling a story and hoping someone would notice its simplicity and complexity all at once. We write because it’s who we are. We write because dabbling in words is our form of art, and it means the world to us to be able to put down our thoughts and let others have the chance to relate the same words we write about our own emotions to their similar, yet so different emotions. We write because it sets us free.
