I am a flower
Shaped by their words
Does that make me ugly?

Each insult, each name
Is another creator to blame
My horrid appearance on

The names they whisper
Have become my façade
My outer shell
That hides what’s inside
A beautiful flower
Waiting to bloom

The hate inside
Is something I can’t describe
The agony
The sorrow
The pain
Has all come from them
Those filthy beings
Them and their dirty names

The horrors they bestow
Like polluters; pesticides
Disguising what’s inside

All I want is to be a flower
In a world where nothing can grow
