THis is my response to laurel's challenge.
My painting was "Ladder to the Moon" by Georgia O'Keefe

I don't have much to say about this one. I'm not sure I followed the rules, but I love it the way it is. Sorry, Laurel.

Anywho, enjoy.

Yours Truly, Liz

P.s. I just realized I forgot the simile and the metaphor! =O Crabapple. Oh well, enjoy anyways.

My steady ascent
To places unknown
Unheard
Untouched by vile hands
And evil consciences
Climbing to nowhere
But, everywhere, yet
Not knowing
Just going
I will never regret
The choices I’ve made
Will only take me higher
Climbing, persevering
I won’t give up
This ladder is my last escape
From the evil land
I call home
Poisoning minds
I call friends
Limiting souls
I call family
The birds in the sky,
The moon,
The stars,
The sun and the clouds,
The sky itself,
My friends
My family
My home
