A Bit Of Snow

A bit of snow
In a hemlock tree
Had built up
And fell on me.

I don't know why
It struck me so
But it was enough
To make me cold.

It was white
And full of flakes,
And gently tumbled
Without a break.

There was no one,
No squirrel or bird,
Just a batch of snow
And it felt good.

It filled my head,
And my jacket too,
It may be only snow,
But I've lost all rue.
