I
Am
A fool.
A hopeless
Stupid
Fool.

I thought you’d show up tonight.
I truly thought you would.
I thought you’d want to see me,
Put me out of suspense,
But you’ve never done that,
Have you?

Never.
Not without me dragging
Something out of you.
Some kind of answer
Some kind of resolution.

So

I
Am
A fool
For thinking.
For thinking tonight would
Somehow be different.
But why?
Why would I think things could
Possibly
Have changed?
They never do.
You
never do.

Never.
And
So
I
Am
A fool.

A hopeless
Stupid
Fool.
