Chapter 6 Getting Closer

Once they were all out of Laryns head, the group realized it was already daytime, and that they needed to get moving. “Laryn, wake up! We need to get going!” Mary-Ann yelled, shaking Laryn. “Huh? What…what happened?” He said, waking up to a startle. “Long story, we’ll tell you later.” Jake said, helping Laryn to his feet. “Do we have everything packed?” Jake asked Clayton. “Yup. We can leave now.” He replied. “Okay everyone! Let’s go!” Jake said. They all flew out of the forest. After about an hour in the sky, the team had finished telling Laryn about what had happened the last night. “So, you guys were, in my head?” Laryn said, almost believing none of it. “Yeah, and me, Zack, and Clayton fought a evil spirit of darkness named Fudo, and his dragon named Lucifer.” Chaddy tried to explain. Laryn just looked at the 5, thinking this was a joke they were trying to pull. “We’re not joking.” Zack said. “It all happened. He said that we would see him again, so let’s hope he was right.” “Let’s not hope!” Clayton exclaimed. “That guy was strong, and so was his dragon! Just remember what he did to Chaddy!” Chaddy looked ashamed. “What happened?” Jake asked. “She tried to attack the dragon, and he dodged her. She fell fast, then Zack caught her.” Clayton explained. Zack smiled, remembering the kiss he had received from her. “Hey, guys! We’re almost there!” Mary-Ann said as they were flying over Fresno, California. It was about 1 PM by now, and the group was still tired from the night before. “Hey guys, do you hear something?” Clayton asked. A feint beeping could be heard among the group. “Yeah, what is that?” Jake asked. BOOM! An explosion behind the group had gone off. Through the smoke, all that could be seen was 6 shadowy figures. “No way!” Laryn said, surprised. Just like the clone of Jake from the day before, there was a copy of each of the group. “Oh great! Even the clone of Jake is back!” Chaddy said, angrily. “Well, I guess this will be more of a challenge than yesterday, guys.” Jake said, ready for a fight. Clone Zack made his fists into rock and charged for Laryn instantly. “Watch out!” Zack yelled, pushing Laryn out of the way. “Zack!!!” Mary-Ann screamed. Zack stayed there floating in air, rock fist in his chest. He spits out blood, then falls to the ground. “You guys go & fight. I need to help him.” Chaddy said. “You made a mistake hurting my friend.” Jake said. “My friends are all I have left in this world, and I won’t let you take them from me!” He yelled at the Clones, catching his fists on fire. He charged at the Zack Clone with full force and punched it in the face, and at the same time, blasting the fire off his fist, and onto the Clones face, making him go flying. “I guess we should help him.” Clay said to Laryn & Mary-Ann. They all charged into battle, each fighting their own clone. Laryn tried to attack, but his clone knew his every move, plus more. He tried a shock from the air, but the clone countered it, just as he did every move. “These guys are impossible to beat! They counter every attack I use!” Clayton said. “Wait a sec… Where’s Jake, you guys?” Mary-Ann asked. “Out of the way!” Jake yelled, flying down from the sky at a enormous speed, body on fire, & Clone Zacks neck in his hand. The others jumped out of the way, and the impact made a crater at least 15 feet in diameter. Everyone tried to look through the smoke, but couldn’t see anything. Then, suddenly, Jake came out of the crater, full body on fire, and not a scratch on him. The destroyed body of the clone lay behind him in the crater. “Who’s next?” Jake said, but this time, his voice had been altered. It sounded like someone else was talking, but it was definitely Jake. He flew towards the other clones and destroyed them, no problem. After the clones had been confirmed dead, everyone looked at Jake, who was passed out on the ground, no longer on fire. “What do you think that was?” Zack said, just getting up. “I don’t know, but one thing’s for sure.” Laryn said. “That was not Jake who saved us. That was someone else. Something else.
