By the riverside I sit

Watching the water flow

Wondering if this is it?

Has the rose gone?

Or does it still bloom?

How much more can I take?

Before I make that great mistake?

Does love flow like a river?

Raging over the rocks and stones

Does it calm the hunger?

Or does love slip through your fingers

Like water in your hands?

What is this I’m missing?

They say love can mean many things

Can be anything you wish it to be

But I want to ask

Take away this mask

Is love like a river?

Is it like a river?

I’ve heard that it’s beautiful

To find that one you’ve been waiting for

When you find him it’s supposed to be

So refreshing

But what if you’ve lost hope

In a lonely world

Fighting to stay ashore

And the river

And the river flows on
