In The Eyes
by: Jessica Tucker

It's long been said,
'The eyes are the window to the soul',
So who will open the window of my head,
and look into their deep pool?

They'd discover all the pain,
of the days long since passed.
Longing for walks in the rain,
to mask the tears that still last.

A sorrow hidden from light,
and stories to be told.
A person who cries all night,
that lies awake, empty and cold.

To understand, they'd drown,
in the depth of emotion.
A happiness worn down,
like pollution destroys the ocean.

Someone who lost trust and faith in others,
a space inside hollow and void.
Looking for love from another,
so my life can again, be enjoyed.
