This House

A light seeps through,
the crack in the wall,
where I once drew,
when I was very small.

My drawings are faded,
time took it's toll,
this house stands unaided,
it tears at my soul.

Most windows are broken,
spots from the rain,
a silent token,
mirrors my pain.

Dirt on the floors,
wallpaper is torn,
missing knobs on doors,
I stand to mourn.

The memories here,
are nearly gone,
they slowly disappear,
with each new dawn.

It's good in a way,
to forget the awfulness,
I had to pay,
that I once suppressed.

I stand in the yard,
withered flowers in sight,
I'm left scarred,
but I'll be alright.
