Sitting here in utter silence,

I decide to turn on the music.

Losing you is driving me insane,

The thought makes me feel sick.

Now that I’ve been replaced,

By one so much more like you.

You even call her your twin,

There’s nothing left for me to do.

I begin to turn and walk away.

Suddenly I hear the sound,

And so I turn and flee.

Then I realize… It’s only me.

Longing to see your friendly smile,

You visit but only in my dreams…

Wish you would stay for a while,

But you are in a rush it seems.

The loss of what we once had,

Leaves my heart bleeding,

It is bruised, hurt and sad.

It’s now barely even beating.

In this old familiar room,

Where I now sit and write,

For hours we would stay.

Now there’s only emptiness,

And nothing left to say.

And so I shall simply,

Bid thee, farewell friend.

I promise to remember you

Until the very end….
