You have reached for me, and I was there.

You have called for me, and I have eagerly answered.

You have feared, scattered and panicked while I walk calmly and assertively directly into the fire.

I never expected you to face such evil when I would gladly do so on your behalf.

I have never asked you to sacrifice your sense of purpose or dignity.

I have never pushed you to see what you did not want to believe.

I have traveled far from home and felt the kindness of strangers.

I have gone no where and felt the cold shoulder of ignorance.

I have seen depravity and heroism.

I have Loved, Lost, Lingered and Loathed.

I have tried with every ounce of my being to cry for help.

Sitting on my couch, wondering when this all became real.

Staring out the window of my life, trying yet again to feel.

Begging for understanding, empathy and peace as in a dream with no end.

The darkest moments come in the quiet of normal….The darkest moments come in the quiet of normal…..the darkest moments are not the reason I Am here.
