Without the vast sea close by, I am... stagnant.

I miss the sea, with its soft foams underlined
By brittle sand, and the horizon
That it always shows me;
I long to touch the empty shells,
Shining, sitting on the shore, warm
Under the eye of the sun.
The freedom it gives never fades,
Filling me with the cool breeze as
The wind gently whispers
In my ears, Stay, stay…
I close my eyes and I see
A deep emerald green, an expanse
Of a twisted mirror
Succumbing to no one, to no thing,
Only to the sky that touches it
With an everlasting feeling.
My body almost becomes one with the sea
When the tides rise and fall
Beneath my chin, holding me,
Embracing me in the softest sleep…
But I open my eyes and I see
Nothing but walls with windows
Reflecting my face, not me,
Because there is no ripple,
No clear water that mixes with my tears.
