Specks of sand dance around the tree,
Its leaves swaying back and forth
At the timeless rhythm of the playful wind;
The tiny flowers catch the golden dust
In their center of nectar and pollen
And happily twirls in the air.
The wind circles around, once, twice, thrice,
Hoping to make the tree laugh… and yet
The tree pretends not to care,
Appearing bored by the soft caress of the tiny specks,
Turning its face away from the wind
Whenever it tries to come close and whisper a joke.
The flowers sing the scented song
Hoping to make the tree play
So that they too can fly with the wind’s gold,
But the tree holds them close
To its center and ignores their restlessness;
The dear wind persists and pleads
For the longest time and soon
The pretty tree smiles and showers the golden air
With lush pink flowers and vibrant green leaves
As the wind carries them in its embrace,
Confident that the dear tree will soon
Laugh and welcome the wind’s visits.
