I knew who to turn to…

Through the years, my pain was numbed
Whenever she would smile and hold my hand;
Through it all, our conversations kept me sane
When my tears refused to stop.

Her calm eyes were my salvation,
Her touch, my peace;
As I walked in the night with her right beside me,
There was nothing I could not face.

In times of hopelessness, she called me,
When I fell in despair, she was there
Whispering words and urging me to stand up,
To look ahead and hold on to tomorrow.

Her wings carried me through timeless dreams,
Her arms embraced me through the broken promises,
And I remained; I wished her presence to forever stay
So that beside me, I can always have someone.

Alas, this day is different, I notice…
I have long been suffering since before the sun dawned,
And I can not find her; not at my side,
I wonder where she has gone?

Confused and scared, I look around me
And there I see far away… her luminescent wings;
As she walks further from me, my heart cries out
A silent choking noise she refuses to hear.

I wonder why, I wonder how she could leave me
At my time of suffering, when I need her warmth,
When I want her sympathy, when I long for her?
Ah, Tears, my angel turns her back at me…

Now I do not know what to do…
