There was a repetitive voice trapped in the wind

Those words of malice tapped at my closed window

The rain did little to numb the cruel sentence

Ruptures of thunder offered only a momentary pause

My room lit to each lightening flash

I buried my conscious pillow deep

But still the whisper demanded my attention

It was a female voice, perhaps in pain

If not suffering, she spoke with anger

Brown and disgruntled leaves exited her path

Her yarn gave the night added darkness

Deep puddles denied her reflection echo

Floods ventured into fields unvisited

But still the whisper demanded my attention

As forgiving glass imploded

Fists of speech struck my head

Gusts of volume circled my room

Her demented voice was now a scream

I awoke to the drum of a beating heart

Moon light dimmed to the tune of peace

But still the whisper demanded my attention
