It was under Benson's Hedge

Amongst the nicotine and addicted veg

A cigar smoking caterpillar sells handy advise

Moral ridden tales on how to be nice

Where once a pool of tears attracted aquatic life and the Muscovy Duck

A dried out hole attempts to move but strangely gets stuck

A scattered jewellery box gives the queen 52 reasons to get mad

She takes thirteen good hearts slowly turning each of them bad

My blurred gaze as too near to the mirror I get

Passing through by the Mad Hatter I'm met

My skin leaks mercury as I walk this cartoon land

Alice my guide, we skip hand in hand

Over chequered hills comes the echo of Cheshire cats cough

But my attention is drawn by a distant alarm going off

My awakening eyes seeks reference to take stock

adjusting my sight I make out an electronic clock

Later in the day while taking lunch in town

A white rabbit points to a hole motioning I go down

I'm taken a back and rub my eyes in disbelief

My watch is missing why that little thief

I decide against chasing and watch his tail disappear

The child in me happy, that other world is so near
