It was my youthful fingers

that first strummed your finely tuned strings

Six lengths of taut wire

spaced evenly across your warm giving heart

The song I played that day

was one so sincere and laced with desire

Perhaps the lyrics

lacked Dylan's' poetic edge

Your eyes closed

I watched you sway to the music

You said there was now a gilt edging

to all your dark clouds

Your pulse helped me keep time

your beauty conducted my honest melody

Alas, we were too young

The song of commitment, was too strong

Virgins no more,

you were not the last guitar I would play

Know today I still hear

a distant sweet chord, something we shared

Never do we forget our first love

Or the concert that enveloped the moment
