Poem by: to lie on the floor without holding on

Summary

I never use words wisely to patch things up with a friend. But I wanted to show someone how much they mean to me, and they say I succeeded with this poem. I kind of just wanted to paint the picture.

You listened

You held my soul

You held my hand

You held by my side

You have your own world to bear

Your own burdens to shoulder

Your own fears to hide from

I wish I could tell you how much

I wish I could help you how much

I wish I could give you an answer

But you know how to find the answers

But you know you have the friends to turn to

But you (should) know that I love you

Even if I mess up

Even if I push you away

Even if I pretend everything’s fine

Because I don’t want to hurt you

Because I want to be able to listen.
