Alan Wake Review
Alan Wake Review
So, we will start of with the basics, the story is AMAZING! I haven't played a game that has drawn me into the story so much. The creators deserve so much credit for the effort put into this game,
some of us thought we would never see this title hit consoles as it was announced 2005. Yes, some people have been waiting for 5 years for this game, but I’m telling you the wait was worth it. I
fear because of its release date it had a selling war going on with ‘Red Dead Redemption’, so a lot of gamers might have made the wrong choice on what game they spent there cash on so lets get down
to gameplay shall we ? The gameplay - I would give a 5/5, the reason for such a high rating is because the gameplay is amazing. The use of the torch guns, flash grenades and flares means you can
kill the enemies anyway you want, even with explosive barrels and electric wires about the environment and the rest was up to your imagination. The enemies where great, the sort of things that give
you nightmares. Humans corrupted by evil forces, poltergeists and demonic birds made the gameplay so much better, you just didn't know what laid ahead. The protagonist, Alan Wake, is one of the
best heroes I have seen in a long time, he did the impossible in this game. From a writer to a hero who thought he would fight the world alone, he gets the help he needs from his cocky best friend
Barry. The two put together made such a great pair, with there friendly back talk and arguments. This gave the player a little bit of light from the dark situation they are in. Okay, just a little
part of the story so you know what is going on. You're wife disappears and you need to find her and fight your way through countless horrors and nightmares created from your own vision. Now, the
story is a clear 5/5 from me and I will not explain why, that’s for you to find out. Finally for the sound track, it has some amazing songs from Poets of the Fall, David Bowie, Poe and a lot more
great artists who just made the game play so great. There are also a few parts of the game that makes you say, “OH SHIT!!!!” because you might be running out of ammo or your torch just ran out of
batteries and you find yourself dodging your enemy’s attacks in slow motion or running to get to the next safe haven. This is a very, very deep game and will make you stop and think, ‘I should
treat the people I love with more care because we do not know what will happen to anyone in our life’. Also, the sound track will give you goosebumps from time to time. Overall rating for this game
would have to be 10/10. And for you people who are going to play this game, you’re not fighting without a cause, there is a reason why! :) Please do comment on this review and if you have played
this game give your honest opinion and if I somehow have made you decide to buy this game, then do tell me. ;P Thanks for reading and thank you Remedy and Microsoft for making such a great
