December

It's December now and I can hear the continual screech

of the cockatoos in the hot westerly wind. Me and Claw

go down to the gully. We're not allowed to but we sneak

off anyhow. We swim in the creek and crawl into the

stormwater pipe.

When it's been raining for a few days the water from

the stormwater pipe flows down the rock face like a

waterfall into the creek. If the sun comes out you can

glimpse rainbows inbetween the water falling and the

rockface.

When we're sick of sunbaking we go searching in

cave in the rock face where the older boys from

'round here go. Sometimes they're there, and they

let us look at their girlie magazines  and tell us about

sex. They enjoy impressing us.

Sometimes they just want to look at the girlie

magazines and jerk off, so they tell us to piss off,

and then we argue with them telling them that we

want to stay and look at their latest magazines.

Then they really get the shits, we end up having a

rock fight with them.

That's one of the reasons we're not allowed to go

down to the gulley. Our parents are always telling

us that we'll lose an eye in a rock fight. But we don't

care, me and Claw throw rocks pretty good

oursleves, so we sneak off to the gully and risk a

belting.
