HUMOUR. THOSE MAGPIES ARE BAD BIRDS!

Significant Evidence

There is significant evidence

That I was eating fried eggs,

When at the breakfast table

I clumsily sawed off my legs,

I'd hang them on the clothe's line

But the magpies stole my pegs!

Ann Sepino

Why does this poem remind me so much of 'Sing a Song of Sixpence?' Except this time around, the birds are stealing legs instead of noses. It did make me snicker though, so we can conclude that the humor was a success on my end. :)

That's an interesting comparison Ann, one I wasn't consciously aware of, but I guess birds will be birds, or once a thief always, but I think this poem wins by a nose! Glad you got a laugh!
