CHILDHOOD.FAMILY. FLASH FICTION. FROM THE COLLECTION, " BORN UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF SHADOWS. " NO 71

The Beatle's Fault

" It's all The Beatle's fault! " Uncle Johnno is always

telling Claw how it's all The Beatles fault, " The dirty

bastards, that's why there's so many bludging young

ones today! "

Uncle Johnno is wearing his favourite blue singlet,

and an old pair of football shorts, as he sits on the

back step of the flat, smoking a  " Craven A " and

drinking from a bottle of beer. He tells us how The

Beatles are stuffing society.

  I've just bought a copy of The Beatle's latest record ;

" Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. " And

I'm always coming 'round to the flat and playing it. Claw

says I play it over and over again, it's no wonder Uncle

Johnno alway's yelling out at me, " Ain't you sick of that

rubbish, why don't you play something I can sing along to? "

Uncle Johnno reckons The Beatles can't sing for quids,

and he shouldn't have bought a record player now for

Auntie Mary, 'cause all he ever hears on it is noise.

A perfect description of the generation gap. Very enjoyable.

Thanks for the comment Bert, as I remember that's pretty much how it was!
