This is a poem I wrote when I was about 16 and I was in quite a rough place, emotionally and mentally. I won't go in to detail, but I felt rejected by everyone and various events triggered my penning of this poem.

A needle in the haystack
A spot amongst the stripes
A weed in the flower-bed
A blockage in the pipes.

A glitch in the system
An unwanted file
A capricious anomaly
Like the detested bile…

I belong with dandelions
They don’t want me to stay
And one by one
They’ll blow me away

And the dust they will blow
It will not remain
For I am not born for this Earth
I’m just stuck in the wrong place

Of the debilitating road of life
And I’m all on my own
I think I prefer this
It’s safer to be alone.
