Knock, knock, knock and "Rise and shine!"

The sounds I hate to hear!

"Vitals, vitals! Step right up!"

Eight o'clock is drawing near."

"Hurry, hurry! Don't be late,

What's your goal today?"

"Um, I don't know. Come back to me."

Oh, the games we love to play.

Where's the doctor? Why's he late?

No one ever knows.

I need a pass. "Well, ask the doctor

When and if he shows!"

There's a knock on my door. "May I talk with you now?"

My therapist says walking in.

"What would like to discuss today?"

Oh, no! Not THAT again!

Hey, what's that rumble in the hall?

It must be time for lunch.

"We love this hopsital food", we say,

As we close our eyes and munch!

The doctor is here. It's time for group.

Just what I've waited for!

We close the curtains, pick a chair,

And stare at our feet on the floor!

We finally break when dinner is cold.

And the telephone starts to ring.

"Is it for me?" Sorry, just a wrong number.

Everyday, same old thing.

Very slowly, the evening hours pass

Until we line up for meds.

Then with a "Ho, ho, ho! And to all a good night!"

They send us off to our beds.

Sweet dreams!
