On Life

In my opinion, the lives we live are insignificant beyond words. They are routine, every day bleeds into another, and the actions in which we partake are meaningless. Our lives are void of emotion and purpose, and it seems we live each day only to get though each lagging year. Life is not meant to be a repetitive sequence of events, but it is meant to be an experience worth living. An individual’s life is created and lived once, cherished once, hated once, and sadly taken once. Too many lives are based around the little things, the smaller picture if I may, the inconsequential. If your only to live life once, for a short period of this Earth’s being, then I say with conviction that life should be lived to it’s fullest capacity. Many lives are filled with selfishness instead of selflessness, greed that could easily be replaced with generosity, and unfortunately are ruminated around the almighty dollar. If this is what our society has made of sacred life, I believe life is fulfilled when it is emptiest. If these are the values we are raising our many generations on, then we have little hope for the future. Our day to day lifestyles undermine the sole purpose of living. To some, maybe the better off, this is just. These are the people who set the societal standard for the remaining population, and anything less than themselves is not worthy.
