A trip to the store is anything but routine...

Don't you just love those stories that start 'Once upon a time'? Well, mine kind of starts off that way. You see, there was this girl... (doesn't it usually start with a girl?) She loved to walk, she'd walk everywhere and I do mean everywhere. Through fields of flowers, which she was allergic to... through baseball diamonds on her way to the store. Anywhere and everywhere her feet would carry her.

Now I bet you're asking yourself 'Yeah? So, what's your point?' Simple. She walked so much her feet, well.. one day they fell off. I know it's a horrible thing. She was devastated. She was on her way to the store and as she was walking, she fell right over and her feet just popped off.

The thing was, she didn't cry, it didn't hurt at all. They sat there, on the side of the road, almost looking up at her... mocking her. She knew if she had taken better care of her feet, wore the right shoes... then perhaps her feet wouldn't have left her.

Alone she sat, confused as to what her next move should be. Her cell phone was at home, she had forgotten to charge it... as usual. Since she was not near any houses, she couldn't call for help. No one would come.

So, she did the one thing she could think of... the only thing she could think of. She started talking to her feet. Letting them know how much she appreciated them, and how badly she felt for mistreating them. On and on she talked, thinking that the only way to convince them of her honesty was to prove it. Only how was she going to do that?

She carefully lifted her feet and put them on her shoulders. Then she told them that once a week they could have a day off, if only they would work for her the rest of the time. That one day off didn't include the time she was actually asleep though. Her feet would have one full day to themselves, to do with as they pleased.

With that all settled her feet did agree to keep going and they hopped off her shoulders, reattaching themselves at her ankles. She was able to stand and together, the girl and her feet went on their way. Never again did her feet leave her, except on their days off... she stayed in bed and the last I heard they had gone snorkeling down in the river.

With her feet satisfied, she went about life as she always did, writing and walking. Until the day her hands got mad, but that's a tale for another time.

Weird (like funny ha ha, not weird as in bad-weird) and well written... You have a very creative mind, I must say!

Thank you :) I'm glad you found it amusing. I was trying something different than what I usually write.
