Who are the ones above the strings

Who pull my arms and make me sing

Who twist my spine and wring my neck

Who close the curtain and clear the set.

Or am I just a pawn in a game

To rise and fall and live each day

Searching for the reason why

We play to win

 To win Is to die.

And those much wiser

That reached the sky

Shall preach a message

To climb and find

Become the one who pulls the strings

Freely laugh, and dance, and sing.

A faint strand

It's shimmer binds

My shallow memory, to my mind

Separates a puppets fate

From the string they hang on

Spinning in place.
