Let’s face it, no matter where you go, there are horrible drivers.

Personally, we think that Pittsburgh is by far the worst place to drive due to the drivers around us.

Oh yes, I have driven in New York and Philadelphia, along with areas in the whole east coast. Yet nothing compares to Pittsburgh! It’s incredible. You might not feel the same and I hope to not offend anyone but I shall share some of my complaints about Pittsburgh drivers.

Let’s face it, no matter where you go, there are horrible drivers.

Oh yes, I have driven in New York and Philadelphia, along with areas in the whole east coast. Yet nothing compares to Pittsburgh! It’s incredible. You might not feel the same and I hope to not offend anyone but I shall share some of my complaints about Pittsburgh drivers.

I don’t know if it’s because all horrible drivers decided to gather in Pittsburgh for the time being or if it is some other odd explanation. All I know is that everyday we leave and start driving, someone almost hits our precious toyota matrix.

Parking Lots…..
Yes of course, when parking lots are full, everyone has to be extra careful and make sure they know their surroundings. As soon as you forget or don’t look around enough before you back up, there is always a high chance of someone hitting you. Here in Pittsburgh, people don’t believe in stopping for those who are backing up. They just decide to squeeze by anyway, even though you were backing out before they drove down the aisle. It’s almost as if they try to get hit or are playing chicken. It is aggravating to check your surroundings before backing up, seeing no one, yet as soon as someone drives down the aisle as you are backing up, THEY DON’T STOP! Yes, this probably happens everywhere but it happens way to often here in Pittsburgh.

Now what about empty lots?
You would think that the stuff from above isn’t very possible in an empty lot. Pittsburgh has proven that wrong also. Just the other night I was backing out of a space (that had a curb in front of me). Now mind you, I looked about 5 times before backing out of the spot. It was so deserted I swear I saw a tumbleweed. I slowly started to back out (no other parked cars even close by) and then…….. *HONK*. I looked behind me and there sat a white truck with his high beams on. Now I asked myself, of all the ways he could of driven, why try to cut me of when I am backing out. Why not wait since I started backing out before he got there. What about cutting across the lot to avoid me. Pshhh nah, he decided to scare the heck out of me and shine his big ol high beams!

Only in Pittsburgh? (Maybe, maybe not)

Now what about the next big thing, anyone have an idea what it is….?

Tailgating!
Anyone a tailgater out there? Don’t deny it now, everyone has done it at least once…(or constantly). Especially when in a hurry, or maybe they just think they need to be in a hurry. Tailgating is everywhere, and it happens to us everyday at least once or twice. I think this is just about everywhere though.

Let’s face it, driving these days takes a lot of energy. You always have to be on a look out for those around you. Especially since there are all these wonderful distractions. You know, texting, chatting on the phone, eating, bending down to try and pick something up from the floor or maybe turning around fully to yell at your kids.

Driving here in PIttsburgh has been quite exhausting so far. The main reason is probably because everyone is in such a “hurry” and they make sure you know it.

Anyway….thanks for letting me rant!
