Take a seat at the diner

Start on the inner motions of a text

Clicking through pages

Desperate for 'Next'

Dr. Thin takes a seat across

He peers patiently

Look up

He doesn't need to say it

Stand. Raggamuffin handshake

Avoiding spears of intention

Clearly avoiding mistake

Staying smart under cover

What next?

At that thought--A lesion:

Out comes a pour

All thoughts--the interest, the bore

it all slips out from radar

Doctor Thins beckons "In"

Silence. Disbelief.

None of this can be possible

Clenching teeth

Wandering eyes droop to vital text

A blizzard screams to the head

"The Next! Find the NEXT!"

And then that too falls out the gaping lesion

White, bloodless, look out to Dr. Thin

He doesn't need a reason

  I take his hand
