A Statement

I fancied being a winged creature,

But ended up as a hapless –

Sighing deeply, shackled in confinement

Of the menace called social life.

I once thought it’s easy to be –

To be a man of choice,

But I was a fool to be a person

Enchained by a city-life.

Whom to blame, none is there

It’s fate, it’s fate, it’s fate,

Whom to curse, none is there

It’s destiny which I hate.

In this birth the hopes are over,

Death will act as a guide,

Taking me to the brightness of new life,

Where I’ll be with wings, soaring high.
